TEACHING ARTIST RESIDENCIES AND AUTHOR VISITS

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been selected to join the 2025-26 cohort of Community-Word Project’s Teaching Artist Project (TAP) training program!

While I love doing school author visits, I’ve always been eager to find ways to engage with the kids I’m meeting and to learn what they’re thinking and dreaming and to find ways to encourage their own creativity. Training as a Teaching Artist is the next step in that journey.

My goal as a teaching artist is to encourage students to find joy and build confidence through writing and storytelling. I strive to create inclusive classroom communities where all students are free to explore storytelling through play, artistic experimentation, and self-reflection.
